I love the sleeping position of the baby kangaroo inside its mother's pouch. This was the only situation I could shoot. I want to know how I can improve the picture so that it will be published
Hello, Aliza
Welcome to our forum. How cute they look in this image is undeniable. I wish you had had the chance to take some other shots. This one can definitely improved. However, I cannot say whether it would be sufficient enough for the curators to choose the publish button. That is again a subjective matter over which we do not have a say. I cropped the image to come closer to the sleeping beauties. I did not care cropping the ears as the body was already not fully included. I also decreased the saturation a few degrees, added some contrast but also lightered the shadows. I decreased the temperature to give it a cooler atmosphere. Then I added some vignette. So that the viewer could be led into the scene, this is all I would change. I wish you good light... Çiçek Kiral

Aliza,
I like your image and for me there is enough sharpness, of course my personal vision. I gave a vignette to become more attention in the centre and I lightend both heads a little bit for more detail.

Hello ALIZA RIZA and Welcome to the Critique Forum. Thank you for giving us a chance!
What a great moment to have witness! This is a very nice scene.
My colleagues Cicek and Theo have already given you some very good advice.
Here is what I have to suggest.
Firstly, what bothered me was the foreground. It is natural but it is not add to the photograph. So I cropped the picture to have the kangaroo and the loey more in the foreground. I applied Details Extractor and Tonal Contrast filters in Nik Color Efex Pro to have better details and lighten the dark areas lik the face of the kangaroo. Then still in Nik Collection, I applied a Blurry Vignette filter to the background once again to make it less visible and detailed. Then I did a bit of dehazing on the animals only. Et voilà!
Hope these suggestions are helpful to you.
Good luck and happy shuttering.

P.S. Oops! I forgot to attach the photo. Stay tuned!
