Dear Senior Curators,

I recently submitted the attached image which received a low score. Before making any edits or considering future submissions, I would be grateful for your professional insight.

This image was taken during a theatrical performance and was meant to blend humor, stage drama, and pop-culture reference. I’m particularly interested in your thoughts on the composition, lighting, storytelling, and whether this type of stylized capture has potential within the 1x curation framework.

Any constructive feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Warm regards,

Joseph

Hello, Joseph

Welcome to our forum. Let's see what we can do about this nice theatrical image. I like it but being taken during the play has some disadventages. First of all the aspect ratio. It does not fit the regular ones. Then having the leg of the man cut off affects the composition. Noise is not a big deal nowadays. It can be dealt with with apps and filters. The foreground is also scarce when looking at the point the image ends right at the edge of the man's foot. Apart from that blurring the background and a lighting up of shadows could be the best option here.  I wish you good liht...Cicek

Hi Cicek,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the thoughtful critique.

You brought up some excellent points—especially regarding the aspect ratio and the cropped leg. I agree that both elements affect the balance and overall impact of the composition. I also appreciate your insight about noise and how modern tools can help manage it. Your comments on the foreground and the suggestion to use background blur and lighting are very helpful—I will absolutely take those into account as I continue developing this style of work.

The edited version you shared looks fantastic. The added separation and clarity really help direct the viewer’s eye and improve the theatrical feel. I truly appreciate the time you took to give such a detailed and constructive response.

Looking forward to growing with the community and sharing more.

Best regards,

Joseph
