Hi 1x community!

It has been quite a while since I've posted here on the forums - good to be back. I have been popping in occasionally to check out the artwork every so often. I hope to increase my regular activity again soon.

Just a short time ago I was fortunate enough to be hired as a brand ambassador for Leica at their new store in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.

I wanted to reach out to any local 1x'ers and visitors who may be in town to let you know about this new shop if you haven't heard of it already and please stop by and say hello!

We currently have an awesome (free) opportunity to try out the Leica SL along with the 24-90 f/2.8 and 90-280 f/2.8 lenses for 24 hours - the Leica SL Test Drive. I can also share your work shot with the SL on our social media accounts with your permission and credit to you.

I personally have had the chance to try this camera out myself and it is absolutely incredible.

Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to send me a personal message.

Looking forward to seeing the 1x community in Vegas!

Hi Ben

Nice to see you posting again, what a treat and Big Congrats with Leica.

I am a long time Leica user (real long) Have an SL and it is one fantastic camera, agree. Today I got the Canon EF to L adapter for using my Tilt/Shift lenses.

Anyone looking at the camera, don't be concerned with the size of the 24-90 Just an inch bigger than 24-70 2.8 from Canon or Nikon. Find it is as good as single focus lenses. Also it is a joy to shoot with all the M lenses,

Anyone wanting to see samples, got a few posted in Facebook, RedDotMiami https://www.facebook.com/groups/reddotmiami/

Hey! Nice to hear from you Alfred. Hope you have been doing well.

Thank you for the congrats :)

That's awesome you own an SL!

We also just got in the EF to L adapter in the store, funny you say that. I would love a tilt/shift for my architecture images.

I recently put the Noctilux 0.95 with the M adapter on the SL. It was a dream come true. Have you tried this lens yet?

I have to agree the size of the 24-90 is reasonable when comparing to others. I had no problem hand holding and shooting sharp images at night on the Strip.

Thanks for the reply Al!

My local Store Miami Leica got the adapter for EF to L today .. sitting right besides me :)

The Noctilux .95 is usable with the SL. With the M I used to shoot in continuous rocking back and forth to nail one at .95 ... routine work now, well close to it !!!

Highly recommend the Tilt/Shift lenses, go the 17 &24. Use them for Landscape, the 17 with filters only has about a 6mm shift. Still does what I need. With the 24 no problems.

Agree on the Noctilux, it is an art to master the lens but it is very fun and such an incredible piece of equipment.

Got a chance to try this T/S on the S the other day https://us.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-S/Leica-S-Lenses/TS-APO-Elmar-S-120MM-f-5.6-ASPH what a monster! T/S engineering is incredible to me. Very impressive piece of glass.

It is impressive Ben ! Wish they made a wider T/S lens.

Dropped my 17 T/S by the local store, the owner is experimenting with it :)

Have more time shooting the SL and like it even more. Besides image quality, like the handling and clean appearance.

Hey Alfred,

Are you working out of the Leica store in Vegas? If yes, will you be around there this weekend? I will be in the neighborhood, and would love to swing by to check out the gear and meet you face to face.

Hi Phil

Not Las Vegas, Miami !

Do stop by the Store, all are friendly and can test some gear. The SL has been one surprising camera, more than the sum of its parts. Pure joy to use, all simple and uncluttered !!!
